- The Mussalman Wakf (Repeal) Bill, 2024 was introduced in Lok Sabha on August 8, 2024. It repeals the Mussalman Wakf Act, 1923. The Act provides for management of wakf property, and keeping and publication of their accounts. It defines wakf as dedication of any property by a Muslim for causes considered religious, pious, or charitable under Muslim law. The Act does not apply to wakf covered under the Waqf Act, 1995.
