- The Orissa (Alteration of Name) Bill, 2010 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on March 15, 2010 by the Minister of Home, Shri P. Chidambaram.
- The Bill seeks to alter the name of the state of Orissa to Odisha in the First Schedule of the Constitution. Such a resolution was passed by the Orissa Legislative Assembly on August 28, 2008.
