M R Madhavan

Madhavan co-founded PRS and is currently its President.

Madhavan co-founded PRS in 2005 and is currently its President. Prior to starting PRS, Madhavan worked for a decade in equity, interest rates and currency markets with ICICI Securities and Bank of America, in Mumbai and Singapore.  He holds a PhD and MBA from IIM Calcutta and a B. Tech degree from IIT Madras, and was a Chevening Gurukul Scholar at the London School of Economics.  Madhavan was recognised as a distinguished alumnus by IIT Madras and IIM Calcutta, and was awarded the Business Standard Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2019.

Chakshu Roy

Chakshu heads the legislative and civic engagement initiatives at PRS.

He is an expert on the rules and procedures of Parliament and its functioning. He anchors programs to strengthen the capacity of legislators at the centre and state level. He supports civil society organisations to engage with legislatures and has trained journalist groups about tracking the functioning of Parliament and State Vidhan Sabhas. He has also been involved in setting up the first comprehensive database of state legislation in the country. He writes regularly on legislative issues and about the strengthening of the institution of Parliament. Chakshu is an IVLP and INK Fellow and holds a bachelor’s degrees in Commerce and Law from Delhi University.

Prachee Mishra

Prachee is Head of Research.

At PRS she published research focussed on the infrastructure sectors including railways, transport and land related matters. Previously, she has worked with the New York City - Department of Transportation, the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy at Cambridge, US, and the NYU Wagner School of Public Service conducting research on various urban planning issues. Prior to that, Prachee worked in Mumbai as an architect. She holds a Masters degree in Urban Planning from New York University, US and a Bachelors degree in Architecture from NIT Bhopal.

Saket Surya

Saket is Deputy Head of Research.

At PRS, Saket has published research in the areas of Government Finances, Information and Communication Technology, and Infrastructure sectors.  He also leads the team's work in Science and Technology Policy.  He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Agartala. Prior to joining PRS, he worked as an IT Consultant with Oracle Financial Services Software Limited in Mumbai.

Analie Dutta Choudhury

Analie is a Programme Associate in the outreach team.

Analie holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Ashoka University. Prior to joining PRS, she was a part of the founding team of TrailBlazHer, an initiative to promote STEM for women and young girls.

Anirudh T R

Anirudh is an Analyst in the Research team

Anirudh holds a bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering from VIT University, Vellore. Prior to joining PRS, Anirudh has worked as an assistant project manager for TI Clean Mobility Pvt. Ltd, an electric mobility company. Anirudh has also worked as a project coordinator with the government services division of KPMG where he liaised with the Tamil Nadu State Government's E-Governance Agency (TNeGA).

Anmol Kohli

Anmol is an Analyst with the research team.  

He graduated with a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) degree from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.  Prior to joining PRS, he interned with Project 39A at NLU Delhi, the Centre for Social Justice, and the chambers of Justice Surya Kant, Supreme Court of India.

Atri Prasad Rout

Atri is an Analyst in the research team.

Atri holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Masters in Statistics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. Previously, he worked as a sub-editor and data journalist at OrissaPost. He has also been a part of the Data Journalism Accelerator Programme run by How India Lives in collaboration with the Google News Initiative.

Hemlata Bisht

Hema is Administrative Assistant to the PRS team

She is responsible for content updation on the Laws of India and PRS websites, state laws data compilation and assisting the PRS team in administrative functions. She has worked with BSA Logistics Company in the customer care division and Solution-Digitas as a Quality Analyst. Hema holds Bachelors degrees in Arts from Delhi University and a Diploma in Office Management from the YMCA, New Delhi.

Kusum Malik

Head - Finance and Admin

Kusum heads the Administration and Finance department. Previously she was focusing on tracking the work done by legislators and legislatures; and overseeing the translation of PRS research products. In addition, she was in charge of content management of PRS websites. She has earlier worked with the Centre for Policy Research supporting the work of different research teams. Kusum holds Bachelors degrees in Commerce from Delhi University and Diploma in Financial Management and Accountability from FMSF- Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

Manas Gubbi

Manas is Head of Legislative Engagements

He has completed the postgraduate program in Public Policy, Design and Management from the Indian School of Public Policy, New Delhi. Prior to that, he worked with the Mumbai-based Praja Foundation as an Elected Representative Fellow. He holds a Masters degree in Politics from University of Mumbai and a Bachelors in Political Science from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.

Rutvik Upadhyaya

Rutvik is an Analyst on the Research Team.
