This note lists the legislative business planned by Parliament and compares it with the actual performance during Budget Session 2022.

The Budget session of Parliament was scheduled to be held from January 31, 2022 to April 8, 2022 but was adjourned a day earlier. Note that both Houses cancelled their scheduled sitting on the day before Holi. Lok Sabha worked for 123% of its scheduled time and Rajya Sabha for 90% (only accounting for actual sitting days). Seven Bills were introduced in the session (excluding the Appropriation and Finance Bills). Five Bills were passed, of which one was pending from the previous session (the Chartered Accountants Bill). The Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022 had not been listed for introduction but was introduced and passed. |
