Parliament met for the 7th sitting of the Budget Session today. Lok
Sabha passed the Railway Budget today after further discussion and
voting on the Demands for Excess Grants of Railways for 2011-12, and the
Demands for Grants of Railways for 2014-15.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Amendment) Bill, 2014
was passed in Rajya Sabha today. The Bill, which was passed by Lok
Sabha yesterday, had been promulgated as an Ordinance earlier in May.
The Bill amends the Telecom Regulatory Authority Act to allow its
previous chairman and members to take up other jobs in the central or
state governments two years after demitting office.
Rajya Sabha also undertook a discussion on the Railway Budget.
