The Prime Minister replied to the debate on Motion of Thanks
in Lok Sabha. The Prime Minister during his speech focused on several themes
such as primary education, water conservation, sustainable development goals,
accountability of the executive among others. He reached out to the opposition
for the passage of key bills and also sought a fresh perspective on proceedings
in the house. The Prime Minister suggested that more opportunities be given to
first time members for participation in debates.
The Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other
Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Bill, 2016 was introduced by the Finance
Minister in the Lower House. The bill entitles every resident to obtain an
Aadhar number by submitting his demographic information and biometric
information by undergoing the process of enrolment. No information related to
race, religion, caste, language, income or health shall be collected.

Lok Sabha also began discussion on the Railway Budget. Our

In Rajya Sabha, members drew the attention of the Home
Minister to the ‘inflammatory speeches made by a Minister in the Union

office’. The Minister of Home Affairs, Rajnath Singh replied at the end of the
debate.
