The Personal Laws (Amendment) Bill was passed in Lok Sabha. It seeks to amend provisions related to divorce and separation in five Acts. These are (i) the Divorce Act, 1869, (ii) the Dissolution of Muslim Marriage Act, 1939, (iii) the Special Marriage Act, 1954, (iv) the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, and (v) the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act, 1956. The Bill seeks to remove leprosy as a grounds for seeking divorce or separation.
The National Council for Teacher Education (Amendment) Bill and the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (2nd Amendment) Bill were passed by Parliament today (they were passed again by Lok Sabha to incorporate a change in date).

The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Bill and the National Commission for Homoeopathy Bill were introduced in Rajya Sabha.
The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Bill seeks to replace the existing Central Council for Indian Medicine with the National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine. Indian systems of medicine include Ayurveda and Unani. The Bill sets up 4 autonomous Boards under the National Commission. There will be a common entrance test for admission in institutions regulated by the Bill.
The National Commission for Homoeopathy Bill seeks to set up the National Commission for Homoeopathy and replace the Central Council of Homoeopathy. The Central Council currently regulates homoeopathic education and practice.
