PRS Parliament Diary
Winter Session-II: February 7, 2014
The third day of the extended Winter Session of Parliament saw the Lok Sabha
and Rajya Sabha function for 15 minutes and 16 minutes respectively.
Disruptions continued over Telangana, the plight of Tamil fishermen and other
issues.
Lok Sabha was adjourned soon after the House met at 11:00. When the House
reconvened at noon,
Speaker Meira Kumar informed the House that she had received three notices of
Motion of No Confidence in the Council of Ministers from G.V. Harsha Kumar, M.
Venugopala Reddy and M. Raja Mohan Reddy. She stated that since the House was
not in order, she could not bring the notices before the House. The Lower House
was then adjourned until Monday,
February 10, 2014.
In the Rajya Sabha, Vice President Hamid Ansari informed Members that the House
is “being forced to witness deviations from the decorum of the House by people
coming into the Well and shouting slogans. I wish to inform the Honourable
Members that this will precisely be reflected in the proceedings of the House.”
The Rajya Sabha still faced continuous disruptions and was also adjourned until
Monday, February
10, 2014.
