Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha
were convened today morning only to be adjourned twice - once until noon, and
then again until 2:00 pm - due to protests on issues such as the JPC report on
allocation of telecom licenses, death of children in Muzaffarnagar relief
camps, price rise and the creation of Telangana.
Both Houses lost their Question Hour for the
third day of the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament.
Frequent disruptions in
the 15th Lok Sabha have led to Question Hour being held for only 43 percent of
its scheduled time. Go here to see a visual presentation of the time lost in
Question Hour in the different Sessions of the 15th Lok Sabha.
In the Lok Sabha, the report of the Joint
Parliamentary Committee to examine matters relating to allocation and pricing of
telecom licences and spectrum was tabled by its Chairman PC Chacko.
Speaker Meira Kumar's
decision to disallow any debate on the report at its presentation during the
Zero Hour led to members of DMK, BJP, Trinamool Congress, BJD, Shiromani Akali
Dal and Left Parties to stand up in protest leading to adjournment of the
House.
Both Houses reconvened at
2:00 pm, but were met with strong ongoing protests, leading to both Houses
getting adjourned until Tuesday, December 10th.
The Winter Session of Parliament
